"You hit rock bottom, but don't realize there is a basement!"
At the point of rock bottom, you may be grappling with overwhelming guilt,
but beneath that lies a deeper layer – the 'basement' of shame.

Hitting Rock Bottom: When we experience a significant trauma or a series of overwhelming life events, we often feel like we've reached the absolute lowest point. We may experience intense feelings of guilt, despair, hopelessness, and a sense of being completely broken. This is "hitting rock bottom".

The Basement of Shame: However, this metaphor suggests that even in the depths of this despair, there may exist a layer beneath – a "basement" filled with shame. Shame is a deeply rooted emotion often stemming from internalized beliefs about our worthiness and inherent value. It's a feeling of inadequacy that permeates our entire being and can lead to self-loathing, self-sabotage, and a profound sense of isolation. This deep-seated shame can fester and manifest as deep-seated hatred, towards oneself and others.

Breaking Free: The journey of healing involves not only acknowledging the pain of "rock bottom" but also recognizing and addressing the deeper layers of shame. This can be an extremely challenging process, but it is essential for true healing and liberation.

'As a therapist, I understand the profound impact of shame and the courage it takes to confront it. I am committed to walking alongside you, offering a compassionate and supportive presence as you navigate the depths of your pain. I will accompany you into the "basement" of your shame, be present in every step, and guide you towards a life of freedom and liberation – Unbound Within.' Gabriela With
